As Vice President for Innovation and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sanghvi was responsible for leading Jhpiego’s technical and clinical approaches by designing and implementing effective, low-cost solutions. He has assisted 45 countries adopt evidence-based guidelines, design training systems, develop health leaders, and seek innovative solutions to improve the performance of health services for women. His team developed the single visit approach to cervical cancer prevention, now practiced in 30 countries. In 2009, he received Global Health Council’s best practices award for his work in preventing postpartum hemorrhageat homebirth, now practiced in 35 countries. He holds the prestigious Honorary Fellowship of the Indian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology following his work with FOGSI is expanding EMOC. He is currently developing more effective labor decision support systems and a novel low cost cryoablation technology and leading a global effort to make surgery safer. Recently his conceptualized and developed new personal protective equipment to protect healthworkers from Ebola, and invented new solutions for Zika. He is currently leading an initiative to harness the private sector to accelerate the achievement of National public health goals.
