HLFPPT (Merrygold Chain of Hospitals)

HLFPPT (Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust) – an Indian ‘not for profit’ organization, promoted by HLL Lifecare Ltd, a Mini Ratna Public Sector Enterprise (Govt of India) started the operations of Merrygold chain of hospitals in 2004. Quality in service delivery, medical services driven by the needs of the community and sustainability are the three primary areas of works being focused upon. After USAID funding, Merrygold hospitals started its operations in UP. Private Sector being unaware of such a scheme was a major obstacle, hence establishing regulations through the Merrygold operations became quite crucial. That’s how the current model of “level wise” hospitals were conceived. The level 0 hospitals are established by HLFPPT themselves, Level 1 as a franchise (private sectors and urban areas) and Level 2 as dispensaries in rural areas. Merrygold caters to low as well as middle income groups. Coverage, Quality and Affordability are the three components which make Merrygold popular.

ARTIST has partnered up with HLFPPT to provide skill transfer training through ARTIST Skill Gurukool to the doctors and paramedics of Merrygold Hospitals.
