The burden of HPV diseases continues to rise with an estimated 600,000 new cases of cervical cancer and over 340,000 deaths each year. Due to this urgent need Sabin Vaccine Institute convenes a Global HPV Consortium where global leaders meet for a trans-disciplinary approach to generate a strategic roadmap that promotes integrated services on the ground to prevent HPV and eliminate cervical cancer.

Cervical Cancer- Kill it before it kills you
It is heartening to see that in 2018 approximately 5 and half lakh women were diagnosed
with Cervical Cancer, although it is preventable. Effective primary (HPV vaccination) and
secondary prevention approaches (screening for and treating precancerous lesions) can
prevent most cervical cancer cases.
When diagnosed, cervical cancer is one of the most successfully treatable forms of
cancer, as long as it is detected early and managed effectively.

World Health Organization's 90-70-90 goals for vaccination, screening and treatment by
2030.

It is observed that the incidence of Cervical Cancer is rising among young women aged
between 15-49 years. The incidence and mortality are high amoung the middle and low
income countries.
Every death due to Cervical Cancer is a tragedy that can be prevented.
